In a press release, the agency reported it's alarmed in regards to the superior number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a large variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office dedicated sassa status to service the area on a regular basis. The assistance place produced for intervention activities a high influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it challenging with the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all consumers and improve access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
